About Us
Doma Foundation is organized and operated to seek the relief of poverty, education of children, preservation of cultural and natural resources, and protection of human and civil rights in Ukraine, especially in Zakarpattia Oblast and surrounding areas. Doma Foundation has 501(c)(3) status so that gifts are tax deductible. A particular focus for us right now is helping families who have been displaced by the war, who have family members serving in the war, and who have lost family members in the war.

Zakarpattia and the War
In 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine for the third time in 8 years. Zakarpattia is located in western Ukraine and has not been hit as hard as other regions, but these photos show local houses damaged in Russian missile attacks. Zakarpattia is also now hosting huge numbers of internal refugees from the east.

President's Statement
Hello, my name is Tamara. I grew up in a small village in Zakarpattia, Ukraine and I moved to the United States in 2018. Zakarpattia is a rural mountainous region that is economically underdeveloped. It has always been my dream to start a foundation to help my beautiful Zakarpattia. I named the foundation Doma because it is a combination of my husband's name, Dorian, and my nickname, Toma, that means "at home" in Zakarpattian. I hope that Doma Foundation will have a real impact on the lives of the people of Zakarpattia and refugees from other regions of Ukraine who are sheltering there. Please consider supporting us.
